How can i prevent infection when i pierce my own ears?

dont bother commenting if your going to tell me not to do it. The thing is, i dont want it done proffesionally i want to do it myself buh i dont get why, it just wouldnt be the same if someone else did it for me? aaand how do you sanitize a needle? cause tbh ive no idea what it means by alcahol and i dont know where i would find a lighter :L anybody got any advice? yeeaah well thanks (: and does the needle that i put in after piercing have to be real silver? and im not too sure about doing it cause incase it was to get infected and im scared about how my mum would react also i p out at the sight of blood :L i guess thats partly a reason i want to do it myself, like overcoming a fear?
