Has anybodies baby turned from breech in the last two weeks of pregnancy?

Hi last Tuesday I had my 36 week check up at the midwives. Baby was head down and everything was ok except babys heartbeat was a bit fast so she sent me to hospital for more checks. A different midwife then felt my stomach and she also said baby was head down. EVerything was fine so I was able to go home. I then a week later had a scan that had been booked since January to ensure baby was growing ok (due to partners son having severe disabilities) all was well except it showed baby was breech. I went back the next day to see a doctor about turning her but he said it wasn't possible as my amniotic fluid level is low (9) and she's not a tiny baby and he said the chances of her turning on her own are very slim. I've now been booked in for a c-section on Thursday 25th March and was wondering if anybody had experienced something similar and if so how did it turn out? Did baby turn on his/her own right near the end or did you have a c-section? I know there's not much chance but i'm hoping as this is my first baby and I feel a bit cheated and also i'm supposed to be a godparent for my niece on Sunday 28th which I really doubt i'll be going to if I have a section. Sorry for the ramble but thanks for any replies, much appreciated.
