Please help - be brutally honest!!!!!?

I met a bloke a few months ago - we were really into each other to the extent I quit my job to start work for him - he spent ages convincing me and eventually I thought sounded like fun... However as soon as I quit my job, he was uncontactable, distant, the job offer wasn't mentioned and I have since learnt he has got back with his ex at around the same time as she told him he couldn't see his son if he started seeing someone else (he says), even though he has still been sleeping with me and trying to get me to go on trips with him... Have I been mively played? It's strange as we get on really well and there is a strong spark and when I speak to him, he can't see that he has done anything wrong, or that he is to blame at all for me quitting my job. I actually thought we would at least be friends for years as we are very alike and have great banter and totally amazing , but am confused about everything and don't know whether to just tell him to 'fu*k @ff' or not as I would really miss him... Please help!
