You ever wonder why the disciples, apostles and prophets mentioned in the story of Jesus, were generally male?

The book of Ruth and Esther are both biblical books about influential women. Also in the new testament you have the Samaritan woman, the Canaanite woman, Mary Magdalene, and of course Mary the mother of Jesus. There are very influential women in the bible. These are the major ones but there are dozens if not hundreds of others. What women do is not always obvious, it could be more subtle.
