I have a strange problem. what would you do or how would you view this strange situation?

i am a married female. coworkers have been trying to invade my private life for years. i am a very private person. several coworkers found out who my brother in law is, he is a pastor of a church. these coworkers went to his church spreading lies about me, that i am a , i am cheating on my husband at work, etc. i even know for a certainty that one coworker carries my brother in law name and address around in his wallet and pes it out to whomever wants it. a couple of men i work want to get in involved with me and i have let them know that i am NOT interested which made them angry. these men have retaliated by spreading lies to my brother in law. something else strange. several women i work with got the information to contact my brother in law, JUST TO SEE WHAT HE LOOKS LIKE, i over heard one say when question by another coworker why were they so interested in my life. STRANGE. I dont know what to make of this activity its the strangest thing i have ever experienced. why do you think these people are so obsessed with me?
